Thank you JoseCarlos. Last year this was the main fail for me: I had a good idea and soid start, but i abandoned the aquarium until January, and then I had only 1 month to fix the mess (algae, melted plants, etc..)

Hey guys! Sorry for the late reply. I have been super busy lately so the tank is not flooded, the part under the water is getting a bit rotten, which is OK - because I will remove that section and replace it with sand. The rest is doing great! I will flood after the holiday because I will travel for 2 weeks 🙂 Honestly, this is the easisest aquarium I have set so far - I had good luck! The moss is growing really good and taking over the rocks. I did trim the Cuba 2 times already 🙂 After I flood it - I will trim better and make a good shapes, and add the red plants in the background

Quick update... teh HC has covered up completely the tank! no melting and great progress.. Today I have to do the first trimming and mostlikly I will fill the tank with water next week

O aquário apanha sol de manhã – e pensei que iria queimar a Cuba, no entanto, parece que as plantas adoram a luz do sol e estão a ficar prontas para a primeira poda! Amanhã envio algumas fotos

Thank you @Fernando Freire The moss is developing good - it was yellow when I put it, now its nice and green - I think its still early for it to attach, I have to wait for few weeks before I test if its attached

New year , new ideas! This year for first time in this hoby I am creating a scape with no wood! Normally i go heavy on wood but that makes my life hard with all of the organics and all of the problems coming with it! I decided to make as simple an aquarium as possible so that I will go with only 3 plants HC Cuba, Moss (Christmass moss) and Rotala sp Red. Thank you so much for the good words!! To be honest I was not sure until the last moment and I did already some small alterations to improve the composition and the depth . I have not maintained this aquarium for 2 weeks now - since my new baby is taking all the time - and some algae started growing now .. so I have to give a good maintenance session these days. this is the latest status from last week

It’s an addiction Toze !! I can’t fight it :))) some Frodo stones are arriving next week to fill in the front - and I’m already making some adjustments in the wood

Hey guys, I’m stating another jungle scape.. this time I’m converting my old discus tank to an aquascape tank 🙂 dimensiosn: 160x80x60 (high) i am going to use fluval equipment that I choose , i was reading that the fluval bio soil is very good and great for starting new aquarium.. so let’s see ! light Fluval co2 - from a bottle. i have not decided on plants yet .. but i think it will be lots of moss , ferns , and similar , and maybe red rotala in the back.

Some tank update! 🙂 I have decided to indeed not remove the wood and place some red plants to continue the path... so it will have more natural look 🙂

Obrigado, Pedro, para ser sincero, eu concordo com você, mas é quase impossível cortar isso – eu tentei cortar, mas é muito difícil… então, preciso encontrar uma alternativa 🙂

Aqui vai uma pequena atualização sobre o aquário: Algumas das plantas derreteram... provavelmente por causa da grande quantidade de madeira e material orgânico que foi usado... então vou ter que replantar novamente 🙂 Além disso, algumas algas verdes começaram a crescer, que eu não vou limpar por enquanto para me ajudar a acelerar o ciclo do aquário e remover os nutrientes em excesso... Vou começar a fazer grandes trocas de água esta semana e replantar algumas das plantas que derreteram, para acelerar o ciclo e o desenvolvimento das plantas.

Obrigado pessoal! A ideia principal era fazer algo muito simples: já que a minha filha vai nascer daqui a 3 semanas, queria criar algo que eu pudesse manter de forma bastante fácil (daí o título: Sleepless 🙂 ). No entanto, acabou por ser uma configuração bastante complexa. A ideia é podar bastante as plantas, para que comecem a rastejar para baixo. @JoseCarlosMarques, essa cola foi usada pela Vera para fixar as pedras: a Oase tem uma cola similar, e eu usei no meu aquário de discus: 100% segura. @Joãoga Fernandes, sim, na parte de trás é apenas rotala sp RED. Nas laterais, Juncus Repens, que eu espero que fique laranja e faça uma boa transição para o vermelho da rotala.
